{1:00pm}Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +119 on Billy's BMT calendar. Today's counts are: WBC @ 3.30, RBC @ 2.89, Hemoglobin @ 10.5, platelets @ 48,000. ANC @ 2,000.
Once again, here are what the Normal blood counts levels are:
WBC: 4.0 - 10.5
RBC: 4.20 - 5.60
Hemoglobin: 12.5 - 16.1
Platelets: 150.000 - 450.000
Todays visit to the clinic was met with a bit of excitement, in that Billy's platelet counts were up 22,000 from Mondays visit. WBC, RBC, and Hemoglobin were also up slightly from Mondays counts. Dr. Petrovic was "very delighted" to see Billy's platelets respond as they did. Dr. Petrovic also told Billy that his clinic visits will be down to only 1 visit per week now, unless he has a IVIG, or Pantamadine treatment, which he has next week *wink*, or unless some unforeseen circumstance draws us back to the clinic sooner. We are all very excited at todays results, and can only hope, and Pray that things continue to progress as they have, we are all so very aware at what can happen at any point in Billy's bone marrow transplant process.

Thank you Sharon, from Minnesota, for the beautiful postcard of St. Paul Winter carnival, Ice palace, Billy received today. *wink*.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

{2:00pm}Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +124 on Billy's BMT calendar. Today's counts are: WBC @ 3.0, RBC @ 3.01, Hemoglobin @ 10.7, platelets @ 47,000. ANC @ 1,700.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday weekend, we did *wink*. Billy's visit to the Clinic this morning was once again filled with optimism. Dr. Petrovic is very happy that ALL of her kids are doing just fine. Billy had his next round of Pantamadine as well, on this clinic visit, without complications. Billy's dosage of Prednisone (steroid) is down to 4mg x 2 times per day now, and on Saturday the dose will be down once again to once a day for the last week. Dr. Petrovic is very pleased at Billy's condition, at this stage of his bone marrow transplant, and is just so happy at the fact that his platelets are rebounding very well without the need of a transfusion(fingers crossed). As you can tell by the recent counts, the platelets have been up and down for the past 6 months, and as you are all aware, the platelets are the last of the blood cells to recover from transplant.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

As you can see (above), Billy's platelets are up another 20,000 from Tuesdays counts. Dr. Petrovic is very pleased at what she see's. Billy had his monthly, 5 1/2 hour IVIG infusion while at the Clinic today as well. Although Billy's clinic visits are now down to once a week, he was at the clinic 3 times this week *wink*. Billy's next clinic visit is on Monday, the 12th.

{2:00pm}Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +130 on Billy's BMT calendar. Today's counts are: WBC @ 3.00, RBC @ 2.87, Hemoglobin @ 10.6, platelets @ 56,000. ANC @ 1,500.
One Hundred and Thirty days since Billy's Bone Marrow Transplant was done. Today's visit to the Clinic was uneventful, although Billy's Platelets dipped a bit from Thursdays counts, the other levels are up a bit *wink*. Dr. Petrovic continues to note that Billy is doing "just fine", and there is no sign of any sort of rejection, or GVHD. Billy's steroid intake level is now down to 4mg x once per day! If you remember, Billy started at 22mg x 4 times per day. Dr. Petrovic noticed that Billy's "puffiness" is also starting to reduce in his facial features. Our Clinic visits are still going to remain at once per week, and we will now have to flush Billy's Broviac Catheter at home at least 3 times per week since we won't be going to the clinic where thay would usually do it after Billy's CBC's were done. We've done this procedure many times before, so we feel comfortable in having to do it *wink*.

{7:00pm}Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +132 on Billy's BMT calendar. Today's counts are: WBC @ 3.92, RBC @ 2.51, Hemoglobin @ 10.0, platelets @ 68,000. ANC @ 1,500.
Billy was admitted to ACH at 8:00am. He started to present a fever of 99° last night, and was feeling pretty lousy. At 7:00am this morning his temp. was up to 103°. We called Dr. Petrovic, and was told to get to the Hospital ASAP. You know we were there within the hour *wink*. Numerous tests will be done over the next three days (minimal Hospital stay) to find out what is causing the high fever. Dr. Petrovic did notice a bit more redness of Billy's skin, and will be doing another skin biopsy in the morning. If you remember, Billy had a skin biopsy done a few months ago, when he presented with signs of GVHD. Dr. Petrovic "THINKS" Billy is showing signs of a possible "flair up" of the skin GVHD. Billy is receiving IV Cefepime to help control a "possible" infection in his system. This was one of the drugs he was on during the transplant procedure. Dr. Petrovic wants to do another full body CT scan while Billy is in the Hospital as well. This procedure is usually done every other month during the transplant procedure, and it is about that time for another scan. We PRAY that the scans will be clear.

Thank you Karen G., from California, for the "gift" and card Billy received today, that was very thoughtful of you.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

{5:00pm}Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +133 on Billy's BMT calendar. Today's counts are: WBC @ 2.21, RBC @ 2.34, Hemoglobin @ 9.4, platelets @ 69,000. ANC @ 1,400.
Billy is feeling pretty good, considering he is stuck in the Hospital*wink*. Billy's fever is "GONE", as is his skin condition.........all in the day in the Life of a cancer patient. Things such as this, are what drives the Dr's. crazy. Billy had a fever of 103°, and within a day, it was gone. The test results aren't back yet, so we are still waiting to see what may have caused the fever. Dr. Petrovic, and Dr. Kerr decided not to do the skin biopsy, and put Billy through any un-needed pain, since the skin has cleared. Billy's platelets continue to rise, but the other counts dipped a bit. The white blood counts spiked during the fever, as they usually would, but now are lower; as are the red cells, and Hemoglobin. Billy had a pretty good night, as did Alicia, who spent the night with Billy as she usually does when he is Hospitalized. Billy will possibly be released tomorrow (late), or on Saturday, depending on the test results. We'll just have to "wait and see"..........

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.
