Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +280 on Billy's BMT calendar. Once again, here are what the Normal blood counts levels are:

WBC: 4.0 - 10.5
RBC: 4.20 - 5.60
Hemoglobin: 12.5 - 16.1
Platelets: 150.000 - 450.000

All is well here in Sunny St. Pete.! Dr. Petrovic has released "most" of the test results to us today, and we are so very "RELIEVED" to say that All of Billy's CT, and Bone scans are CLEAR. When we say Clear, we mean that there is no evidence of cancer in Billy's organs or bones. We are still waiting on other test results of his blood, and hope these results are clear as well.

Dr. Petrovic was also in consultation with Dr. Letson (Billy's surgeon), and he is still planning on a "mid January" date for Billy's re-constructive leg surgery. Billy's immune system is strong, and getting stronger; they both agree that Billy's system will have little, or no difficulty in being able to handle such an extensive surgery. After all, this will be the third time his leg will be opened up, from the top of his hip, to 5 inches below his knee. Billy is getting very anxious, and a bit nervous, as you can expect.

We are still planning on going to NJ for the Holiday, and as that departure day draws near, it looks as though it will be a "reality" *wink*. Alicia, Billy and I, are looking forward to the trip, and really need to just "get away".

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +285 on Billy's BMT calendar.
I hope this update finds you all well (and warm). Billy is doing just fine, as are Alicia and myself. We are anxiously counting down the last few days before our "road trip" to the frozen tundra of the Garden State, also known as New Jersey! We are STILL planning on leaving here on the 20th, and as of today, it looks as though we should leave on time *wink*. Billy has a clinic visit on this Thursday, the 16th, after his class's. We hope to have some more results from the tests done a few weeks ago. Dr. Petrovic see's no obvious signs that there is anything out of the "ordinary" after 285 days into a bone marrow transplant. In fact, Billy is doing "exceptionally well."

Our good Friends, Eric and Debby Horner are once again coming down to see Billy on this Thursday. They have been a "Major" force that guides us on this incredible Journey, and their visit, as always, is very much appreciated. They bring with them a sense of strength, you just have to experience for yourself, to believe. I hope you like Lasagna Guy's!!!!

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +288 on Billy's BMT calendar.
yesterday's counts are: WBC @ 4.50, RBC @ 3.39, Hemoglobin @ 11.6, platelets @ 172,000. ANC @ 2,700.
I hope this update finds you well. Billy's clinic visit yesterday went well, and he is doing fine. We still haven't received any other test results, and are anxiously waiting for them *wink*. Billy's counts are holding steady, and we are set for our "road trip", and will probably be heading out on Sunday morning due to the fact that there is going to be a major "nor-easter" following us north!! About a foot or so of snow is expected along our route north, so keep your fingers crossed that this trip will be un-eventful *wink*. I want you all to know, I will not be updating Billy's page while we're away from home, so PLEASE don't worry about Billy *wink*. Dr. Petrovic has informed us that a colleague of her's is assigned to the very Hospital where Billy was born, so, if need be, we have a Hospital to go where someone will be familiar with Billy's case.

Thank you Uncle Tommy & Vanessa, for the Gifts Billy received yesterday! That was very thoughtful of you, and much appreciated.

We would also like to take a few moments of your time, and express to all those involved with the Gift presented to us yesterday by Eric and Debby Horner, our sincere gratitude. You ALL have gone above and beyond anything we could ever imagine, with this expression of Love, and thoughtfulness. Alicia, Billy, and I were "shocked", to say the least, and overcome with emotion (caught on video). This couldn't have come at a better time, and we will be forever grateful. Please click HERE for our "Special" Page, and acknowledgment. We'll see you all when we get home! Be well, and we Love each and every one of you, more than you can imagine.

5:15pm We just got word from Dr. Petrovic, that all of Billy's test results are in and that "Billy has far exceeded their expectations, at this point in his transplant", and that his immune system "should be" as normal as our's by the 1st anniversary of his transplant on March 4th. (3 months from now). She also said that we shouldn't be worried during our trip, and Billy should be just fine. She also stressed the fact that Billy must "STILL" avoid fast foods, at all times. No Problem!!!

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +301 on Billy's BMT calendar.
WOW! Where do I start!! Let me first say that "we are Home"! and today is the 301st day since Billy's BMT. Also, on behalf of Alicia and Billy, let me Thank each and every one of you for making this Christmas one we'll forever be grateful for, and one we'll not soon forget.
Our trip to New Jersey was a very pleasant trip, although we were witness to over 20 accidents due to a 6 inch snowfall in North Carolina on the way to NJ. We pray that everyone was OK. Our return trip welcomed us to another 4 inches of snow when we woke up the morning of our departure for home(5am Monday). In between the snow falls we had a wonderful time with Family and Friends, and we took alot of photo's! You can click Click for photo's to see 2 of our favorites! I will post some more soon! Billy would like me to Thank Uncle Jorge, and Uncle Alfred for spending so much time with him, and for playing with him while there. Billy would also like me to tell Uncle Juani, that he was sorry he couldn't spend more "close time" with you because Cusin' Adriana was ill.

We received a "tentative" date for Billy re-constructive leg surgery, it will be on January 21st. We will be asking alot of you, for your Prayers, as this day approaches, Please bare with us. We have waited, for what seemed forever, for this date, and now that it is almost here, so is the fear that accompanies it. Billy says,"Bring it on", as he has always said, and your Thoughts and Prayers have helped him overcome. Please stay by Billy's side as he once again undergoes this major procedure.

We would like to share a very heart warming story with you. This story appeared in the Local NJ newspaper on Dec. 23rd, CLICK HERE. We will hopefully be meeting Billy's Donor in the near future. How would you react? Please let us know.
If We don't talk before the "Big Day"! We would like to wish you ALL a very.........

Surround yourself with those you Love...............

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +304 on Billy's BMT calendar.
I hope this update finds you all well, and that you have survived the "Holiday Festivities" void of regret! We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your Friendship over the past 12 months, and hope your Friendship will always be there through the next year, and beyond. All is well here in Sunny and "warm" St. Pete.! It has been 77-78° for the past week, and should continue this trend for the foreseeable future!! I don't mean to rub it in, but isn't it great!! I do miss the seasons of the North, just not the "snow shoveling"!

I hope you all had a chance to visit the newspaper article link (above), and read the story. This has been the second such story in the past few months that we have heard about. A local cancer patient, here in the Tampa Bay area had the opportunity to meet her Donor as well, and this has been heavy on my mind. It probably has to do with the way I've been feeling the past few weeks. In 2 months (March 4th) we will have the very same opportunity. We will be given the chance to "anonymously" contact Billy's Donor, in Hopes that He'll agree to have contact with us. I have been writing "thank you notes" in my mind as I try to fall asleep at night. I can't get it out of my mind, nor do I want to *wink*. If Billy's Donor is anything like the two others I mentioned, I'm sure he is just as anxious as we are. To know he saved a Child's life, or any life; with the unselfish act of Donating his own bone marrow, would be a gift I would cherish forever, if it were me. One in 5.8 million, at times it seems un-comprehensible. We do know that he is a 25 year old male, or at least he was 25 when he agreed to be Billy's Donor. We also know that he lives here, in the United States. We truly hope to meet him, no matter what the cost.

Billy has a Dr. (pediatrician) appointment tomorrow morning, and his next clinic visit is scheduled for the 10th. of this month. Dr. Petrovic has been quite "invisible" the past few months, since Billy is doing so well. Billy does miss her though *wink*.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.
